MISSION STATEMENT
St. Alphonsus School is a Dual Language Immersion elementary school in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is a vibrant learning community that educates children to become biliterate, master core academic content and skills, and develop strong moral character based in the Roman Catholic tradition. As teachers, we answer God's call to teach, guide and nurture our children, mind, body and spirit in order for our students to reach their God-given potential and grow in their knowledge, skills, talents and love of God, self and others, to be successful inside and outside the school walls now, and in their precious Future, as life-long, faith-filled Catholics and productive citizens of society.

St. Alphonsus School is a member of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles (ADLA) Dual Language Immersion (DLI) Network of schools. As a member, we aspire to meet the ADLA DLI Network Mission Effectiveness Standards:
1. An excellent Dual Language Immersion Catholic elementary school is guided and driven by a clearly communicated mission that embraces a Catholic Identity rooted in Gospel values, centered on the Eucharist, and committed to faith formation, academic excellence and service.
2. An excellent Dual Language Immersion Catholic elementary school adhering to mission provides a rigorous academic program for religious studies and catechesis in the Catholic faith, set within a total dual language academic curriculum that integrates faith, culture, and life.
3. An excellent Dual Language Immersion Catholic elementary school adhering to mission provides opportunities outside the classroom for student faith formation, participation in liturgical and communal prayer, and action in service of social justice.

6. An excellent Dual Language Immersion Catholic elementary school has a qualified School Leadership Team empowered by the ADLA DLI Network, Board of Directors, and ADLA DLI Implementation Team to realize and implement the school’s mission and vision.

An excellent Dual Language Immersion Catholic elementary school has a clearly articulated, rigorous dual language curriculum aligned with the Center for Applied Linguistics’ Guiding Principles for Dual Language Education, 21st century skills, and Gospel values, implemented through effective instruction.
